WELCOME TO THE

        ACTIVATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP

The Association  cannot achieve its goals, as embodied in its Mission Statement, without the support of a substantial number of active members. While all members of the Oceanside High School class of 1960 are members of this Association, and all are encouraged to participate in and enjoy its reunions, its extensive website, and its other program activities, only active members provide support for those activities.

Only an active member can serve on the Association's Board of Directors, its Reunion Committee or any other committee thereof, and only active members can vote in the annual election of Association directors. But the most important special privilege of active membership is the pleasure of contributing to the achievement of the Association's noble mission and purpose.

And so what does it take to be an active member? Only payment of your annual dues -- only a nominal $25 per year.1, 2 Or if you wish, you may contribute an additional amount.3

Of the dues you will pay, 20% ($5) will be allocated to, and used solely for, our website fund, to support the continuing cost of maintaining our website for the pleasure of our classmates, and another 20% ($5) will be allocated to, and used solely for, our reunion fund, to supplement the admission fees received and enhance the pleasure of our reunions, and for financial assistance with such admission fees and travel costs of classmates who might otherwise be unable to attend a reunion.4 The balance shall be available to support these and other Association activities at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Additional contributions will be allocated similarly unless you request larger allocations to these functions.

So join your other classmates in supporting this Association by mailing your check for $25 or more as follows to:

Don't wait, do it now!

Thanks.

2

Dues and other contributions to the Association are not deductible for income tax purposes.

3

Payment of $200 in any one year will entitle the member to Lifetime Active Member status, that is, active membership with no further dues obligation for the remainder of the member's life.

The Board of Directors reserves the right to unilaterally redirect these dues allocations for use or uses other than their originally designated purposes if in its sole judgment (without the necessity of the approval of the dues-paying member), use of such funds for the originally designated purpose becomes, in effect, unnecessary, impossible, or inconsistent with the needs of the membership, at large, or the Association’s ability to accomplish its overall purpose.
